Wired includes Tekes' customers on its list of hottest start-ups

Finnish start-ups have attracted a large amount of capital investment. All companies on the list are Tekes' customers.

The British issue of Wired, a highly respected technology magazine with global readership, has again listed the hottest start-ups in ten European cities, such as London, Paris, Istanbul and Barcelona. The following Helsinki-based companies are included in the list:

Grand Cru
Steam Republic
Grey Area (also included last year).

Tekes has provided all Finnish companies on the list with funding for research, product development and innovation. Eight of the companies have also received Tekes funding for young innovative growth companies (YIC), while four companies are involved in the Vigo accelerator programme run by Tekes and Finnvera.

Even though the companies only had a combined turnover of slightly more than one million euros last year, they attracted a total of 15 million in capital investments from Finland and other countries.
