This year, the Slush Conference, which is geared towards start-up companies and venture capitalists, will be held at the Cable Factory 13 - 14 November.
Tekes will participate at Slush as part of Team Finland. Tekes’ experts will be at the event to share information on Tekes’ services, especially with new companies.
Other members of Team Finland will include Finnvera, Invest in Finland, National Board of Patents and Registration of Finland and Industry Investment. The Vigo accelerator programme, which is managed by Tekes, will also have a stand at the event, where it will showcase its accelerators.
Tekes will also make its aim at Slush to connect Finnish start-ups with international venture capitalists. Over one thousand enterprises and hundreds of venture capitalists are to take part in the event. Slush links enterprises with investors with the most potential. Slush will feature 100 enterprise presentations and 3,000 meetings between growth enterprises and investors.
On Wednesday 13 November, Tekes will participate in Slush’s Gaming Track with its Skene programme. The Skene programme gives an account of Tekes’ role in supporting the Finnish gaming industry.
The top experts from the gaming industry will be at the Slush Gaming Track to share stories, tools and trends. There will also be a panel discussion on the future of console and mobile games.
Panellists will include Supercell’s Ilkka Paananen and Rovio’s Mikael Hed, as well as other international top names from the industry. The panel will be chaired by Dean Takahashi from US technology publication VentureBeat.
Gaming Track will culminate in a lesson on how to make a successful mobile game. This includes factors such as user acquisition, game design, monetisation, analytics, marketing, creating hype and control of a product’s life span.
